prevent screen blanking under X
This still allows one to use dpms= on the kernel command line to set
+/-dpms option ... which seems pointless, since it doesn't appear to
work without the -s option.
It would perhaps be better to have an i.e. 'blanking' option, to which
one could pass a timeout, and have it work for both console & X
