commit 783f746ef90ee9a3bfb9dddeab4ef246fd041010
Author: Jongmin Kim <jmkim@debian.org>

d/gbp.conf: Enable pristine-tar to ensure reproducible upstream tarball

To create an upstream tarball without pristine-tar, following steps
    were needed:

      1. git archive --format tar --output $PKG.orig.tar
      2. xz $PKG.orig.tar
      3. ln -s $PKG.tar.xz $PKG.orig.tar.xz

This approach has two problems with reproducibility:

    (1) Steps 2 and 3 do not guarantee reproducibility. Neither
tar nor xz provide reproducible output with their default
        options.

[gnu-tar-repro] can help, but it requires all maintainers to use
        the same local configuration.

    [gnu-tar-repro] https://www.gnu.org/software/tar/manual/html_section/Reproducibility.html

    (2) Step 1 produces a tarball without the .git/ directory. When multiple
upstream tarballs exist for different versions, it becomes difficult
to match each tarball to a specific version, i.e. a specific commit.
One would need to run step 1 against many commits until the correct
        one is found.

With pristine-tar, the association is recorded directly in Git through
the commit message containing the version, and Git ensures the integrity
        of this mapping.

debian/patches: 2 patches to forward upstream low

Among the 2 debian patches available in version 0.9.1+git20150607.4976a6c-1 of the package, we noticed the following issues:

  • 2 patches where the metadata indicates that the patch has not yet been forwarded upstream. You should either forward the patch upstream or update the metadata to document its real status.

Standards version of the package is outdated. wishlist
The package should be updated to follow the last version of Debian Policy (Standards-Version 4.7.3 instead of 4.7.2).
