gnu-apl (1.8-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Package upstream release 1.8 (closes: #949948)
  * Upstream had debian/* for 1.1. Completely overwriting, but some
    of that was used as a basis here; changes below.
  * Debhelper compat 13, Standards-Version 4.7.4, DEP-5 copyright.
  * Add libapl-dev binary package for the embeddable APL library.
    - using out-of-tree build
    - patches to enable out-of-tree build
    - GCC-15 patch
  * Build with libfftw3, libxcb, libgtk-3, libpcre2, libsqlite3 support.
  * Fiddle with debian/rules and patch #includes so broken upstream
    src/makefile.h does not break the build.
