It provides a modular toolbox library, a runtime framework and a command line application for building and evaluating real-time audio processing chains. The system includes a wide range of plugins implementing common hearing aid algorithms, such as noise reduction, beamforming, feedback cancellation, dereverberation, dynamic range compression and spatial filtering. . openMHA supports binaural and multi-channel processing and includes reference implementations of algorithms used in academic research. It is designed to facilitate reproducible experiments and rapid prototyping of hearing aid processing strategies. . Additional tools are provided for calibration, resampling and signal analysis. Optional support for proprietary fitting rules (e.g. NAL-NL2 and DSLmio) can be enabled if the required external libraries are available. . This package is primarily intended for researchers, developers and engineers working on hearing aid technologies and audio signal processing.
