Closes: 150514 150663 150684 Changes: setserial (2.17-28) unstable; urgency=high . * Well 2.17-27 caused me more problems than solutions, so I am going to backtrack from the solutions to 150514 (to use ucf) and instead force people to say if they want to use update-modules. If they do not, then they have to manage it themselves. Eventually I expect update-modules to offer users the ability to disable its function and to also preserve user modifications to that file. If users would like this functionality now, and they can get the update-modules maintainer to fix the problem then let me know and I will take the question out of setserial.
