* d/watch: Repack the upstream tarball with a +ds suffix (Repack,
Repacksuffix) to advertise the Files-Excluded source removal;
Dversionmangle=auto.
* d/control: Bump Standards-Version to 4.7.4 (no changes needed).
* d/control: Add build dependencies for libraries that basex-core now
imports directly at compile time (upstream switched several classes from
reflective loading to direct imports): libtagsoup-java,
libhtml5parser-java, libjline2-java, libicu4j-java and junit5.
* d/control: Move libjing-java from Suggests to Recommends so RELAX NG
validation (validate:rng) works out of the box; it ships the jing.jar the
wrapper scripts probe for.
* d/control: Tidy runtime dependencies - require a Java 17 runtime
(default-jre (>= 2:1.17~) | java17-runtime) to match
maven.compiler.release=17; correct libjansi1.jar to the real package name
libjansi-java; and drop libjline2-java from Recommends and libtagsoup-java
from Suggests, as both are already pulled in via ${maven:OptionalDepends}.
* d/maven.properties: Set maven.compiler.release to 17 (was 11).
* d/maven.rules: Map nu.validator:htmlparser onto Debian's
nu.validator.htmlparser:htmlparser (libhtml5parser-java); map jline:jline
to 2.x; drop obsolete basex 7.x and Jetty rules.
* d/maven.ignoreRules: Ignore de.bottlecaps:markup-blitz (not in Debian) and
the Maven deploy/release tooling (wagon-ssh-external,
central-publishing-maven-plugin, maven-gpg-plugin, maven-release-plugin).
* d/patches: Add disable-invisible-xml.patch, disabling fn:invisible-xml
because its Markup Blitz backend (de.bottlecaps:markup-blitz) is not
packaged in Debian.
* d/copyright: Drop obsolete Dockerfile exclusion (removed upstream); refresh
copyright year.
* d/tests: Add smoke and examples autopkgtests; the latter asserts the
manual's EXAMPLES still work, guarding them against drift.
* d/man: Refresh manpages for 12.4 - correct the SYNOPSIS option lists and
the EXAMPLES for current command syntax (use repeated -c rather than
";"-separated commands, put -o before -q, and use "SET PARSER html" /
fetch:doc for HTML parsing); update the standalone example version; fix
the basexserver name typo; add a UTF-8 coding declaration so "Grün"
renders correctly. Drop the vestigial sed (and stray basex.1e) from
make_man.sh.
* d/man: Update documentation URLs - docs.basex.org/wiki/* moved to /main/
(with lowercased anchors); replace the dead files.basex.org example URL and
the removed Startup_Options link; refresh the verbose (-V) output example;
rename a duplicate OPTIONS heading to STARTUP in basexclient(1).
* d/NEWS: Add an upgrade note for the 10.5 -> 12.4 jump: databases stay
usable (on-disk format unchanged since BaseX 9), and flag the changes
that may need attention (Java 17; basexserver's generated admin
password; fn:invisible-xml disabled in Debian; the BaseX 11.0 removal of
the Hashing Module and other functions/operators; XINCLUDE/CSV/JSON
option changes; command-line binding and separator changes).
* d/salsa-ci.yml: Add the Salsa CI pipeline (standard debian.yml recipe).
