* debian/watch: version 5. The URI stays http: ctsim.org serves https
with a self-signed certificate, which uscan rejects, so https would
break the check rather than secure it. Overridden with that reason.
* debian/source/lintian-overrides: explain source-is-missing for
artifacts/manual/ctsim.html, whose source is doc/manual/*.md in this
same package.
* Standards-Version 4.7.4. The source stanza's Priority field is
dropped: from Policy 4.7.3 it is not recommended unless it differs
from the default, which is the optional it was set to.
* The text-mode program is renamed from ctsimtext to ctsim-nogui, and
ctsim itself now runs the same functions: "ctsim phm2if ..." runs one
and exits, "ctsim --shell" reads them from a prompt. The two binaries
are one program built twice, with and without the interface.
* New upstream release. CTSim 7.0.0 is a substantial revision of a
program whose previous release was 6.0.2 in 2010.
* The graphical interface is ported from wxWidgets to Qt 6. Every menu
command of the wxWidgets version is present, and the two produce
identical files: the test suite checks a phantom rasterized, scanned
and reconstructed through the interface against the same pipeline run
with ctsim-nogui, and they agree exactly.
* The build is CMake rather than Autotools, with scripts/build.sh for
Linux and macOS and scripts/build.bat for Windows, each of which
configures, builds, tests and packages from one command and installs
its own dependencies with --init.
* CTSim builds and runs on Windows for the first time.
* The application can be driven by a script: "ctsim --script file" runs
a list of commands that make phantoms, scan and reconstruct them and
assert things about the results. Help - Run Demonstration shows the
whole chain.
* Reconstruction is about a third quicker, and the reconstructions
themselves are unchanged to the last bit.
* Files can be written in HDF5 as well as the historical format, and
images imported from and exported to DICOM.
* The source is modern C++: sized types from <cstdint>, string_view and
span at the interfaces, std::vector in place of new[] and delete[],
and diagnostics whose arguments are checked as the program is built.
* Several long-standing faults are fixed, among them a backprojector
that corrupted a column of any reconstruction reaching past the
scanned circle, and transparent pixels in a PNG read as their hidden
colour rather than as nothing.
* Refreshed packaging: debhelper 13, Standards-Version 4.7.0, and the
build run from the CMake buildsystem rather than a hand-written rules
file.
