hostname: Remove undocumented feature
In 2013 undocumented support for variables inside the hostname was
added. That doesn't work on modern systems, since the naming of network
devices changed away from 'eth0'. The code is now simpler

Disable screen lock if using gnome-shell/gnome-screensaver
These days screen locking on GNOME is provided by gnome-shell, whereas
gnome-screensaver is used by alternative Desktop Environments.
