Re-license all documentation as GPLv2+ instead of AFLv2.1
The DFSG team asked for the AFL license to be removed.
This likely helps mitigate issues from potential claims that AFL 2.1
would not be DFSG‑free. Some argue that tts jurisdiction and venue
clauses (Sections 8 and 9) restrict lawsuits to the licensor’s local
courts and waive the right to a jury trial, which Debian considers an
unacceptable additional restriction.
Since dbconfig-common is a native Debian package (no upstream tarball to
preserve), the maintainers can re‑license the documentation to match the
code’s GPL‑2+ license. This eliminates the need to ship the problematic
AFL text altogether.
